Welcome to the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary - Flotilla 712 website.

We are a local group of volunteers located in Western Washington County in Oregon. Our members come from the Portland Metro area including Aloha, Beaverton, Forest Grove, Hillsboro, and Tigard.

We meet the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm (1900hrs) at 155 North 1st Avenue, Room 140, Hillsboro, OR

Our assistance to the U.S. Coast Guard Active duty personnel is our primary objective along with promoting boating safety through a variety of mission's. Our missions to the USCG come in the performance of boat operations, education, public outreach and actual side by side assistance with the USCG.

Commanders Update

Our flotilla completed its Spring BS&S class with 7 graduates (one of which is a strong candidate to join our flotilla). We have two very nice facilities available to us now.

Our next PE (Public Education) endeavor will be teaching the AUX WEATHER class beginning in September. Time and place to be determined.

Art Jinnett is out newest crew member. We had several training patrols at Hagg Lake in preparation for summer missions. We have combined the crew training with VE (Vessel Examinination) missions at the Lake.

PA (Public Affairs) Missions are in high gear as Flotilla 7-12 supports our FSO-PA Rick Rivera who is also the SO -PA. Our two most recent missions were at the Elmers in Delta Park and a Safety Event at Bethany Village. In both instances we supported the Gold side and their SAFE Boat.

In July we had a combined meeting and fellowship potluck and have one planned for August.

Fellowship Cruise

Our flotilla recently ventured to Coon Island for a fellowship cruise. We had three boats show up along with a visit from the Gold side with a SAFE boat. Tony brought his (YNOT) with his wife and three children who commandeered a raft and made way to shore. Karl came down with his outstanding sailboat (Raven). Ernie joined as well with his wife and provided a lift to Mr. and Mrs. Murphy and a family friend. Thanks Mark for bringing the hot dogs.
